She also works closely with the Notre Dame Career Center to connect FTT students with internship and post-graduation employment opportunities and conducts workshops to help students create their resumes and launch internship/job searches.
When the University of Notre Dame sold the station to Gray Television in 2005, she assumed the post of instructor/internship coordinator for FTT. Heisler, whose career also includes stints in journalism, media/public relations, documentary television, editing and writing, has won several national awards in each of those areas. Her writing for the award-winning PBS documentary series Today's Life Choices helped that staff garner two gold medals at World Film Fest Houston.
In 2006, she wrote her first book, Fighting Irish Legends, Lists and Lore, a year-by-year history of University of Notre Dame athletics.
Heisler continues to write several freelance feature articles a year for a variety of publications and presents writing workshops for businesses and organizations.
