Peter Engel, Executive Producer of Saved by the Bell and Emmy nominated show 'Last Comic Standing' on 10/6

The first FTT Talks of the 2004 fall semester will feature Peter Engel, executive producer of the television program  Saved By the Bell. He was also recently nominated for an Emmy for the reality TV program Last Comic Standing.

On Wednesday, October 6 at 5pm in the Browning Cinema of the Marie P.DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts. Engel will deliver a talk entitled "Your TV and Motion Picture Future." He will discuss how one can "make it" in the world of entertainment and how he has managed to find sustained success with Saved By the Bell and Last Comic Standing. This talk is free and open to the public.

Parking is available in the lot just south of the stadium. The Marie P.DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts is loicated on Angela Blvd. Please use the north entrance.

Engel is an internationally recognized and award-winning Hollywood writer and producer who has entertained and inspired people of all ages for more than 30 years. He practically invented "tween" programming when he produced the original hit NBC series Saved By The Bell, now syndicated in 85 countries. Other shows he produced are NBC television hits, including Hang Time, One World, City Guys, California Dreams, All About Us and USA High for the USA Network. Engel is currently completing production on a second season of the NBC summer hit Last Comic Standing. Engel, who began his career in 1970 after earning a B.S. in Communications from New York University, has worked with many of the most prominent entertainment companies, including NBC, Universal Studios, The Family Channel, USA Network, The Disney Channel and even Broadway, which is considering a musical stage production of Saved By The Bell. He also helped develop Beyond Talent Management, a company that helps prepare actors for television, films and theatre productions. Engel's programs have received an impressive list of awards, including:
