An American Indian, a gospel singer, a disowned gay teen, and a Palestinian American intellectual walk into a church… In this often humorous and always authentic play, a diverse cast of characters struggles to find meaning and love in their lives. Refusing easy labels, God's Gonna Trouble the Water by R. Tyrel London '19 travels through the ensemble’s lives as they struggle against their trials with the love and support of their found family as they let go of what they weren’t meant to hold, learning to build a new life from what’s left. Presented in partial fulfillment of a thesis for the Departments of Film, Television, and Theatre and American Studies.
