This spring, Professor Tarryn Chun will teach a special, one-time-only FTT Arts Intensive course in conjunction with the Notre Dame Arts Biennial. In this class, students will work with experimental Chinese theatre director Wang Chong to co-create the English-language premiere of his play, Lying Flat 2.0. If you are interested in exploring immersive, participatory theatre, live-feed videography, and how AI can be incorporated into the arts, this is the course for you!
Each student in the course will have the opportunity to take on a performance or production role, including: actors, assistant directors and assistant dramaturgs, props/costume/sound designers, board operators, marketing/publicity assistants, and camera operators/videographers.
This Spring 2027 course will meet MW 9:30-10:45am, with a F 9-10am lab. All students must commit to staying on campus over spring break for Wang Chong’s in-person residency and to evening/weekend performances March 15-21, 2027.
