Design and Production


John Corba is an award winning Producer, Director, Production Designer, and Art Director, working on feature films, television shows, music videos, branded content and countless commercials, and is currently an Associate Producer for ND Studios. Prior to coming to the University of Notre Dame, John was Director of DePaul Cinespace Studios in Chicago. There he conceived, designed, and managed a 35,000 square feet professional production soundstage facility and formed an alliance between The School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University and Cinespace Chicago Film Studios. John has over 30 years of professional film and television production experience working in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Being “on set”, working in a variety of capacities and departments is his jam. More recently, John produced a short film with ND alum Christine Swanson ‘94, and was in the art department on television shows such as Chicago Fire, Shameless, Empire, The Unit, Rizzoli & Isles, and Boss. He received his B.S. in TV/Radio/Film Production from the The Newhouse School at Syracuse University and his M.F.A from The School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University.

When not in the classroom or on set, John enjoys surfing, cooking, and just being outdoors with his wife, Molly, and 3 children.
