Jocelyn ‘Jo’ Connors is a junior from Attleboro, Massachusetts, majoring in film, television, and theatre (film concentration) and Romance languages and literatures, with a minor in European studies. She is a European Studies Research fellow, whose work focuses on how cinematography, optics, and art are used to shape narratives of liberation, particularly in the post-war Francophone and Italian context. On campus, she serves as a videographer and editor for the Notre Dame Office of Public Affairs and Communications and is a community organizer for SolidarityND. Beyond Notre Dame, she works for the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals in Newport, Rhode Island and is affiliated with the alternative photographic process collective Le Bonheur est dans l’instant, based out of Paris, France.
As an FTT ambassador, Jo hopes to share her passion for film in assisting other students with navigating discernment and resources, as well as advocate for interdepartmental communication that strives towards uplifting student projects that seek to expand FTT’s interdisciplinary foundations.
