Biography
William Donaruma is a filmmaker, educational speaker, and professor and Head of Film Production at the University of Notre Dame. Beginning as a grip and a stuntman at Universal Studios, he moved into production management, camera, editing, and now teaching. He specializes in cinematography for both narrative and documentary filmmaking and is a lead instructor for RED Digital Cinema and WildMotion. Current projects include an ongoing Ukraine documentary film on the destruction and preservation of cultural heritage and the loss of rural life in European countries. He also frequents countries in Africa to teach and mentor locals who are budding filmmakers and strive to work on incoming productions in community education outreach programs such as NEWF, Botswana Ignite and the Timbavati Foundation.
