Professor of the Practice in Filmmaking
William graduated from Notre Dame and went on to work in many areas of film and TV production for Universal Studios, various networks, and production companies. Since returning to ND, he has specialized in cinematography and narrative filmmaking while also directing the feature documentary Strong Bodies Fight. He continues his work producing and shooting internationally, including projects off the west coast of Ireland working with Ian Kuijt in the Department of Anthropology. Their recently completed documentary, Nets of Memory (2018), is now in the film festival circuit and the book Island Lives, Island Places features embedded video from their work. William is also the Creative Director for the Office of Digital Learning, where he directs and shoots original content for Notre Dame courses, including a historical tour of Chartres Cathedral in France and Listening to Puerto Rico, documenting personal stories from the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
