Six recent alumni offer insights for creating anti-racist theatre. In conversation with faculty member Siiri Scott, panelists will discuss their lives as BIPOC artists after ND, consider how their ND experience affected their launch into the profession, and offer advice to current BIPOC students.
María Amenábar Farias ’20 is currently studying at Illinois State University to receive her MFA in Directing for theatre.
Samuel Jackson ’20 deferred his MFA Acting training at Columbia University due to the pandemic and is currently working as an admissions counselor for Notre Dame.
Najmeddine Harrabi ’19 is currently pursuing a MFA in film production at USC.
Eric Ways ’18 is currently acting professionally in NYC. He’s booked a couple of episodes on Showtime’s City on a Hill and a small part in Respect: Aretha Franklin Biopic.
Jean Carlo Yunen Arostegui ’17 finished his MFA in theater directing from UCLA last year (in the middle of the pandemic) and is currently serving as an Associate Producer for the Latino Theater Company at The LATC, as well as a freelance director.
Tashi Thomas ’08 is currently working as an actor and voiceover artist in NYC, independently producing a feature film called Survive and a short film entitled Loving Me With You, and directing FTT's Zoom reading of ¡Curanderas! Serpents of the Clouds by Elaine Romero.
