Biography

Marcus has had the opportunity to serve as scenic designer for such productions as Hairspray and The Hot Mikado with Drury Lane Oakbrook, Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Orpheus Descending for the Eugene Opera, When the Messenger is Hot at 59E59 Theater in New York, First Look Repertory and The Elephant Man with Steppenwolf Theater Co., and is the resident designer at the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival. He also designed Fully Committed with the Madison Repertory, Marriage of Figaro with Remy Bumppo, Woyzeck with Greasy Joan, Dead End with Griffin Theatre, Master and Margarita at Grinnell College, Moby Dick with the Building Stage, and Harper Regan, Parlour Song, Breathing Corpses with Steep Theater, as well as many productions at Northwestern University. He has also worked as a commercial scenic designer and model builder. Marcus holds an M.F.A. in Scenic and Lighting Design from Northwestern University and is a proud member of the United Scenic Artists Local 829.
